Susan L. Allen, Ph.D. Announces Release of EveryDay Nonviolence

Author and educator Susan L. Allen, Ph.D. has released EveryDay Nonviolence (May 5, 2026), a newly expanded second edition inspired by her earlier work, The Tao of Nonviolence: Why Nonviolence Matters (2016).

EveryDay Nonviolence explores how individuals can become active participants in cultural, relational, and ecological change through practical, everyday applications of nonviolence. The book presents a holistic, process-based approach to problem solving that encourages readers to recognize the interconnected nature of human relationships, communities, and ecosystems before conflict escalates into crisis.

Grounded in the philosophical principles of Taoism rather than religious doctrine, the book examines concepts such as interconnectedness, dynamic balance, and cooperative participation as essential foundations for sustainable human systems. Allen combines theory with practical tools, offering exercises, teaching materials, and project ideas designed for readers of all ages.

“Nonviolence is not passive,” Allen explains. “It is an active, learnable way of thinking and relating that can transform how we approach conflict, community, and the living systems we are part of every day.”

Through accessible examples and systems-based thinking, EveryDay Nonviolence invites readers to rethink fragmented and adversarial approaches to modern problems and instead cultivate healthier, more sustainable relationships — personally, socially, and environmentally.

EveryDay Nonviolence is available now in paperback.
